Peak oil is the point
in time at which the maximum global petroleum production rate is reached,
after which the rate of production enters its terminal decline.
If global consumption is not mitigated before the peak, the availability
of conventional oil will drop and prices will rise, perhaps dramatically.
Well, it seems that we
are indeed arriving at the point of Peak Oil. What does this mean, what
should we be doing about it and how should we be preparing for this? Whilst
we're developing our own information pages on Peak Oil, we suggest some
careful background reading and film watching.
