£3.4billion that it would
take to halve child poverty is instead being spent on occupying
Iraq and Afghanistan
19th March 2008
Dear Sir,
How sad to see key Sheffield Respect activists joining the Labour
Party as it continues to wage war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those
who voted Respect in recent elections must be stunned.
Green Party Principal Speaker and MEP Caroline Lucas commented
on Alistair Darling's budget. "The £3.4billion that
it would take to halve child poverty by 2010 is instead being
spent on occupying Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008 alone." The
Green Party have been at the forefront of the anti-war campaign
from well before hostilities began in Iraq. Many people have war
and social justice as their key issues and, in the Greens, they
have a party that they can trust to promote their views.
Yours sincerely,
Rob Murphy (Sheffield Green Party)
