Sheffield Green Party would like to like to thank everyone who supported us in the recent election. We fought a positive campaign focusing on key issues - good public transport, affordable, well insulated housing, support for local businesses, shops and post offices and opposition to privatisation of health and education. Jillian Creasy was re-elected in Central ward and we are now the third largest party on the council, holding the balance of power. We have a key role to play in deciding who forms the next administration.

We have brought a different style of politics to the Town Hall which fits well with the co - operation and cross party agreement that will now be needed to get motions through the council. It will be an opportunity for other parties, not just the ruling party, to contribute to running the city for the next 12 months, giving the 10% who voted Green a voice.
