help us? Every new member, every new supporter
and every extra vote for the Green Party convinces the political
establishment, the media, the professional bodies and the public
that Green politics is a voice for Real Progress worth taking seriously.
Sheffield Green Party has two types of
membership: national and
local. National members become part of the Green Party of England
& Wales as well as Sheffield. Local members are members of Sheffield
Green Party only.
Both types of members are welcome to take part in all Sheffield
activities
and both have an equal say in the running of SGP, such as deciding
on
policy and choosing election candidates.
Local members pay a lower subscription, and are not eligible for
the
benefits of being part of the national party, like receiving mailings,
attending GP conferences, or standing for elections.
Most people choose to become national members, and many become
involved in activities local to their part of Sheffield. National
membership is
financially better and administratively easier for Sheffield too.
